Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG: Maruti Suzuki has introduced a unique CNG model into its line of Maruti Nexa premium segments. The Nexa chain of Maruti has become the very first car in India to reach the market with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The CNG variant is priced from Rs 8.28 lakh to Rs 9.21 lakh for the LPG variant, which claims to make her beautiful quality and good performance viable and economical for the buyer.
Variants and Pricing
The Baleno CNG is available in Delta and Zeta trims. The price differential between both trims of the CNG variant when pitched against their petrol counterparts amounts to Rs 95,000. Delta Variant: CNG: RS 8.28 lakh Vs Petrol: RS 7.33 lakh Zeta Variant: Rs 9.21 lakh (CNG) / Rs 8.26 lakh (Petrol)
Power and Fuel Efficiency of Baleno CNG
Like its petrol sibling, the Baleno CNG also comes with a 1.2-litre K12N engine, albeit with different tuning for the engines to which they feed. The CNG has been reported to make a maximum output of 77.5 hp and make 98.5 Nm of torque that are of course less than the petrol figure of 90 hp and 113 Nm although it retains the same power figure as last-year’s models. However, Maruti claims this Baleno CNG can deliver 30.61 kilometers with one kilogram of CNG and that should appeal to the customers more who place stress on fuel economy.
Another disadvantage is that because of housing a 55-litre CNG tank, boot space suffers. While the diesel is available only with the 5-speed manual gearbox, AMT is an option only for petrol.
Features Provided in Baleno CNG Models
Some features of the premium Maruti Baleno CNG shall include the LED Projector Headlamps, 16-inch Alloy Wheels, 7-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System with SmartPlay Pro+ and Voice Assistant, Connected Car technology with over-the-air software updates, 6 Airbags, Advanced Start/Stop Push Button, and Rear View Camera.
Competitors to the Baleno CNG in the Market
Toyota launches an important product, Glanza CNG, to lie immediately below the B segment of the CNG premium hatch back category. This other competitor, happening to be the Glanza, should stand in direct competition with the Baleno. Rest premium hatchbacks of Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz will hardly stand a chance against it, as installation of CNG plants is not yet implemented into these competitors.
